Purpose of the Job :

  • Defines and communicates comprehensive UX visions that guide product strategy and development.
  • Identifies connections between related products, and works with cross-functional peers to address any dependencies or overlap.
  • Lead design thinking sessions to align business goals with user-centric design solutions.
  • Advocates for design excellence and best practices across teams and departments.
  • Actively mentors and develops the skills of other designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the design team.
  • Evaluates the impact of design decisions on key metrics such as user satisfaction, engagement, and business performance.
  • Initiates and leads initiatives to enhance team dynamics, morale, and overall team health.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities :

Craft :

  • Establishes and implements clear design principles that guide and enhance the overall design process, ensuring consistency and excellence across all projects.
  • Stays at the forefront of industry trends, integrating the latest innovations and best practices into the design strategy to keep the organization competitive and forward-thinking.
  • Leads and facilitates cross-functional activities that accelerate the design process through collaborative ideation, rapid prototyping, and effective problem-solving.
  • Leads highly complex user research initiatives, including generative research, with support from UX Researchers.
  • Demonstrates advanced technical design skills while excelling in soft skills such as leadership, communication, and collaboration to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Promotes adoption and evolution of the 6DS design system at the product level to maintain consistency and scalability.

Solution Design :

  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of users to drive informed design decisions within the cross-functional team.
  • Expertly breaks down large product-level experience initiatives into discrete activities that the team can deliver over time with organizational visibility.
  • Efficiently identifies technically viable design solutions that align with company objectives.
  • Acts as a catalyst for excellence, particularly in design reviews and critique sessions.
  • Ensures clear understanding and prioritization of user needs and challenges.
  • Drives implementation of impactful and well-executed solutions.
  • Translates business opportunities and technological advancements into tangible customer value propositions.
  • Aligns design initiatives closely with overarching business goals and strategic priorities.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in collaborative efforts to integrate design solutions across various departments and disciplines, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

User Experience Vision :

  • Delivers a unified and cohesive UX vision for key initiatives and complex components of the user experience.
  • Choreographs and guides the UX vision to align seamlessly with the overall product strategy.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to ensure the UX vision is consistently implemented across all touchpoints.
  • Designs UX strategies that are scalable and adaptable to future growth and changes in the market.
  • Effectively communicates the UX vision to stakeholders at all levels to ensure understanding and alignment.

Educational and Experience Requirements :

A portfolio that shows:

  • Significant experience working as a Product Designer across the breadth of a complex product.
  • Proven ability to identify when user research is required and why, partner with UXR to execute, and then tell a story that affects change.
  • Expert-level understanding of usability, UI design, and how to implement, document, and use an enterprise design system.
  • Evidence of how you use data and storytelling to influence product decisions.

  • Helps their cross-functional team drive iterative improvements by breaking work down into clear deliverables that build successive value.
  • Leads other designers and cross-functional peers through collaborative influence.
  • Validates product ideas and feature-level usability through user research

Base Salary Range: $167,250 to $245,300. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board. In addition, 6sense provides a variety of benefits, including generous health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, self-care days, and paid time off (PTO).
