Staff Software Engineer (Frontend)
6sense
Our Mission:
Our mission is to multiply what matters: growth, retention, and efficiency. We envision a future where companies, teams and people reach their full potential.
Our People:
People are the heart and soul of 6sense. We serve with passion and purpose. We live by our Being 6sense values of Win as One Team, Stay Curious, Do The Right Thing, Own the Outcome, and Create Belonging. Every 6sensor plays a part in defining the future of our industry-leading technology. 6sense is a place where difference-makers roll up their sleeves, take risks, act with integrity, and measure success by the value we create for our customers. We want 6sense to be the best chapter of your career.
As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will be a technical leader and architect for 6sense products. You will bridge the gap between complex data-driven requirements and high-performance user interfaces. This role is for a visionary engineer who can build sophisticated frontend abstractions, define best-class engineering standards, and work as a peer to Product Design to deliver world-class AI-driven experiences.
Core Responsibilities:
- Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product Designers to translate high-fidelity designs into fluid, responsive, and accessible 6sense products.
- Systemic Abstractions: Design and build efficient, reusable frontend abstractions and systems that empower the entire engineering team to build faster and more consistently.
- Performance & Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (e.g., rendering lag, bundle size, data-fetching efficiency) to ensure a premium user experience.
- Performance Engineering: Define and monitor Core Web Vitals. Solve complex performance bottlenecks related to bundle size, rendering patterns (SSR/ISR), and browser memory management.
- Technical Governance: Lead design and code reviews with a focus on long-term maintainability. Identify, document, and communicate frontend best practices across the organization.
- Cross-Pollination: Actively interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations into the front-end ecosystem and vice versa, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Quality Leadership: Oversee the testing strategy, ensuring robust coverage across unit, integration, and E2E layers.
- Mentorship & Influence: Conduct high-level code reviews, write RFCs, and mentor Senior/Lead engineers. Influence the broader engineering organization’s roadmap.
- Modern Standards: Stay at the forefront of the ecosystem (e.g., React Server Components, AI-augmented development) and strategically decide when to adopt new technologies.
Our Frontend Stack:
- Framework & Language: React + TypeScript
- Testing: Playwright (E2E) + Jest (Unit/Integration)
- Styling: CSS / SCSS / CSS Modules
- Component Documentation: Storybook
Required Skills:
- Staff-Level Expertise: Extensive experience (10+ years) in frontend engineering, with a mastery of React and TypeScript.
- Architectural Thinking: Proven ability to build "internal products" (libraries, hooks, components) used by other developers.
- Testing Mastery: Deep experience with Playwright for resilient E2E flows and Jest for comprehensive unit testing.
- Styling & Design Systems: Expert knowledge of CSS/SCSS and CSS Modules. Experience using Storybook to maintain and scale a living design system.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to profile browser performance and optimize complex React component trees.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate technical trade-offs to both engineers and designers.
Our Benefits:
Full-time employees can take advantage of health coverage, paid parental leave, generous paid time-off and holidays, quarterly self-care days off, and stock options. We’ll make sure you have the equipment and support you need to work and connect with your teams, at home or in one of our offices.
