Role overview
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of new features for the Accolade Communication Domain, as well as the maintenance of the current code base. The Communication Domain consists of messaging and telephony platforms that play a crucial role in facilitating seamless communication between our health assistants and members. This role focuses on the telephony platform part. You will also have the opportunity to develop other essential services, such as an appointment scheduling system and virtual assistant integrations to support our contact center needs. Working closely with internal stakeholders, product managers, and the team, you will leverage AWS cloud technologies to translate requirements into efficient and innovative software solutions.
A day in the life…
Understand business requirements and the scope of enhancements
Design and deliver new features and maintenance tasks using serverless architecture, leveraging AWS Lambda functions written in Python
Working on the Voice AI platform and integrating LLM agents into our contact center ecosystem
Ad-hoc tasks based on the business needs for contact center configuration
Occasional FE work in React and ReTool (low-code platform)
Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time with high quality
Demonstrate creative, technical, and analytical skills
Provide feedback, perform code/quality reviews
What we are looking for…
Min. 2 years of high proficiency and experience in Python (or other OOP language)
Previous hands-on working experience with AWS serverless stack, specifically: Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS & SQS
Experience with microservice-oriented architecture
Experience with other Amazon services, such as ECS, Amazon Connect, Bedrock, or OpenSearch, is a plus
Some degree of FE experience (JS, React) and willingness to occasionally work on FE is advantageous
Experience and/or willingness to work in a highly agile, collaborative, innovative, flexible environment embracing modern DevOps culture
Motivated, detail-oriented, quick learner who is not afraid to step outside of their comfort zone and can grasp complex challenges
