ABOUT THE ROLE
You are not a generalist. You are the definitive cloud and cloud security expert that the Field SE team pulls in when a pursuit is complex, strategic, or technically demanding.
You will be engaged as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the most important enterprise opportunities in India — working with the CISOs, Cloud Architects, and DevSecOps leaders of India's largest enterprises and Fortune 500 subsidiaries. You won't be running every deal. You'll be winning the ones that matter most.
This role demands both deep technical mastery and exceptional pre-sales craft; equally credible leading a boardroom security strategy conversation and going deep in a whiteboard session with a platform engineering team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
SME Engagement on Strategic Deals
- Be pulled in by Field SEs as the cloud security SME on complex, high-value enterprise opportunities across India.
- Lead technical deep-dives and architecture sessions, and drive competitive displacement situations where advanced cloud security domain expertise is the differentiator.
Technical Pre-Sales Leadership
- Own and deliver technical validation for Wiz's CNAPP capabilities — including CSPM, CWPP, KSPM, CDR, and AI-SPM; in the most demanding POC and proof-of-value scenarios.
- Experience and ability to code and understand developer workflows: Git, CI/CD, Helm, Terraform, etc.
- Guide prospects through complex multi-cloud architecture discussions, demonstrating how Wiz integrates across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Develop and deliver differentiated technical narratives that position Wiz above point solutions and legacy security tools.
Field SE Elevation
- Share domain knowledge, technical positioning, and deal-winning approaches with the Field SE team through thought leadership sessions and mentoring.
- Develop scalable technical assets; reference architectures, battle cards, and advanced demo environments; that amplify the SE team's effectiveness.
Product & Market Feedback Loop
- Translate field learnings into structured, high-signal product feedback for the Wiz Product Management and R&D teams.
- Identify emerging cloud security trends in the India market and feed them into Wiz's product and GTM strategy, in collaboration with the Field CTO and CTO organisation.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Pre-Sales Experience
- Proven experience in pre-sales / sales engineering roles — as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Pre-Sales Architect. This is a hard requirement.
- Demonstrated track record of winning complex enterprise deals through technical excellence; POC leadership, executive presentations, and competitive scenarios.
- Experience engaging C-level and VP-level technical buyers (CISO, CTO, VP Infrastructure) on security and cloud strategy.
Cloud Security Domain Expertise
- Hands-on experience with CSPM, CNAPP, or CWPP platforms in a pre-sales or architect capacity; you have sold or technically validated cloud security tooling before.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native security concepts: identity and access risks, misconfiguration management, vulnerability prioritisation, secrets exposure, network exposure analysis, and runtime threat detection.
- Working knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance mandates relevant to India and APAC: CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, MeitY guidelines.
Cloud Platform Mastery
- Expert-level knowledge of at least one major CSP — AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform — including architecture patterns, IAM models, compute, storage, network, and managed security services.
- AWS: VPCs, IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, SCPs, Lambda, EKS
- Azure: Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, AKS, Policy, Landing Zones
- GCP: IAM, Security Command Center, GKE, BeyondCorp, Org Policy
- Strong knowledge of container and Kubernetes security: cluster hardening, pod security, image scanning, runtime defence, and RBAC models.
- Ability to read/write and reason about IaC (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab) from a security posture lens.
Communication & Executive Presence
- Ability to adapt messaging fluently across audiences; from a security analyst working in a cloud console to a CISO presenting to a board.
- Experienced in building and delivering compelling technical narratives and business-value storytelling that support a commercial outcome.
India Market Fit
- Willingness to travel across India to engage with large enterprise accounts and Fortune 500 subsidiaries in key metros and emerging markets.
- Familiarity with the India enterprise technology landscape; cloud maturity, regulatory environment, and enterprise buying cycles; is a strong advantage.
