Introduction
The Ecosystem Engineering Solution Architect acts as a Technology Leader leveraging technical expertise and Ecosystem insights to drive successful engagements, Partner Offering Co-Creation, and Market impact for Clients through Partners.
Although business development acumen is certainly of value in this role, the primary focus is on the technical skills required to design, construct, and execute the creation of MVPs, PoCs, Pilots, and Solution Offerings that can be used to assist the Growth Partners in the progression of their Resell opportunities as well as assisting in the validation of their Influence efforts.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, the Ecosystem Engineering Solution Architect is the liaison between the Pre-Sales Growth Partner coverage team and the Ecosystem Engineering Lab with respect to the design, construction, and execution of PoX activities (Architecture, PoC, MVP, Pilot, & Solution Offering).
The Ecosystem Engineering Solution Architect will help evaluate planned and ongoing technical PoX activities that are related to partner opportunities for transition from the Pre-Sales coverage team to the ecosystem engineering lab.
After this hand-off, the Ecosystem Engineering Solution Architect will be responsible for monitoring the progression of the PoX activity and maintaining a communication loop between the EE lab & the Pre-Sales team.
Additionally, the Ecosystem Engineering Solution Architect may be required to actively participate in the design, construction, and execution of the PoX activity with the EE Lab.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
· Co-create outcome-driven solutions by partnering with Ecosystem collaborators to evaluate feasibility and align IBM technologies with their business objectives.
· Lead Ecosystem Partners engagements through demos, workshops, and technical advisory, while accelerating deals by navigating IBM’s sales processes and opportunity management.
· Drive use case innovation and identifying pilot solutions by advising on high-impact scenarios, leading PoC and pilot execution, and aligning technical delivery with joint go-to-market strategies.
· Enable seamless integration by helping partners adopt and embed IBM technologies into their solutions, enhancing value and scalability.
· Drive Ecosystem partner engagements using the appropriate IBM Technology and IBM Solution Offerings such as HashiCorp, FinOps, & App Modernization, delivering value through demos and workshops while accelerating deals aligned with IBM’s sales processes.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
§ Broad Technical Expertise across DATA, Automation, and Infrastructure with technical depth in at least one of those areas. Demonstrable client-facing, broad technical subject matter expertise across the over-arching technology portfolio. The successful candidate should have the ability to discuss, demonstrate, and implement the associated technologies.
§ Architectural Thinking. Real world experience in the design and construction of technical assets from an architectural perspective. Experience in the creation of Reference Architectures and the visualization of Enterprise Architectures.
- Excellence in Communication and Collaboration: Provable excellence in people, communication, and collaboration skills, with a track record of networking and influencing, at all levels, throughout the successful closure of complex technology sales cycles (ranging from $10k to multi-million-dollar deals), achieved both independently and through teamwork.
- Attention to Detail and System Usage: Proven discipline and attention to detail with the usage of sales management and recording systems, as well as efficient expectation setting and follow-up practices.
§ Experience. The candidate should have:
o Architecting solutions 2+ yrs
o IT Architect experience 5+ yrs
o Technical Sales experience 2+ yrs
- Strong Hybrid Cloud and AI skills – 3+years
- ·Industry acumen: 2+ years
- Knowledge of IBM Solution Design method, Architectural Thinking, IBM Garage Method, Lean UX, scaled Agile, and DevOps
- ·Proficiency in multiple IBM technologies and product offerings
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
- Understanding of IBM's Technology Portfolio for DATA, Automation, and Infrastructure. A strong comprehension of IBM's extensive technology Portfolio as described above.
· Experience:
o Minimum of 2 years’ experience designing solutions with IBM’s technologies such as IBM AI, Agentic AI, Governance - WatsonX family, Automation – MQ/APIC/ACE, Sustainability - Maximo, Mainframe - zOS/zHw, Infra and Hybrid Cloud products.
o Minimum of 5 years in designing, constructing, and implementing PoCs, MVPs, or Pilots.
o Consulting experience
o Industry Certifications
