About The Team
The Staff MarTech Engineer will sit in the Marketing Analytics team which is a distinct part of the broader Data & Analytics department. While belonging to a close-knit central team, each Life360 Analyst partners with one or more business units on a long-term basis: in Product, Device Sales, Locations, Marketing, Engineering or Finance.
Each Analyst has the opportunity to combine their own expertise with our substantial data resources to contribute as a thought leader, establish domain expertise and develop cross-functional partnership to solve business problems for the company.
About the Job
We are looking for a Staff MarTech Engineer to serve as the technical architect behind our growth engine. In this role, you will bridge the gap between Engineering, Product, and Marketing. You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of the tracking infrastructure that powers our user acquisition and retention efforts.
You will not just "install tags"; you will architect complex, privacy-compliant data flows connecting our App and Website to major measurement partners (AppsFlyer, Firebase) and advertising ecosystems (Meta, TikTok, Google, Apple Search Ads).
The US-based salary range for this position is $176k to $310k. The Canada-based salary range for this position is 204k to 287k CAD.We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
What You’ll Do
Architecture & Integration Strategy
- Design and maintain the end-to-end data telemetry strategy across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.
- Lead the technical implementation of Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) specifically AppsFlyer and analytics suites like Firebase.
- Architect robust Server-to-Server (S2S) integrations (CAPI) for Meta, TikTok, and Google to ensure signal resilience in a post-cookie/IDFA world.
- Manage deep linking infrastructure (OneLink, Universal Links, App Links) to ensure seamless user journeys from ad click to app install.
- Translate business requirements to data engineering requirements
Attribution & Data Accuracy
- Ensure measurement accuracy across Apple Search Ads (ASA), Google Search, and social channels.
- Debug complex attribution discrepancies between internal databases, MMPs, and ad networks.
- Implement and manage SKAdNetwork (SKAN) and Privacy Sandbox strategies to optimize campaign measurement on iOS and Android.
Data Governance & Privacy
- Serve as the technical guardian of user privacy, ensuring all tracking implementations comply with GDPR, CCPA, and Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
- Manage Consent Management Platforms (CMP) and ensure signals are correctly passed to downstream advertising partners.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the "Staff" level technical lead: mentor junior engineers, code review tracking implementations, and set standards for event taxonomy.
- Partner with Marketing stakeholders to translate business requirements (e.g., "We need to track ROAS on TikTok") into technical specifications.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 7+ years in Software Engineering or Data Engineering, with at least 4 years specialized in MarTech/AdTech.
- MMP Mastery: Deep, hands-on expert knowledge of AppsFlyer (SDK implementation, S2S API, validation rules, fraud protection).
- Coding Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for web tracking and familiarity with Swift/Kotlin for debugging mobile SDK integrations. Strong SQL skills for data validation.
- Ad Tech APIs: Experience implementing Conversion APIs (CAPI) for Meta (Facebook), TikTok Events API, and Google Offline Conversions.
- Tag Management: Expert-level mastery of Google Tag Manager (GTM) for both Web and Server-side containers.
- Mobile Ecosystem: Deep understanding of the mobile attribution waterfall, SKAdNetwork, IDFA, GAID, and deep linking technologies.
