Role Summary

As part of our continuously growing pace and new products being rapidly launched in our financial superapp, DeLorean (our Design System) is becoming a powerful tool to not just ensure consistency, but a solution to reduce design and development cycle times.

We are looking for a customer obsessed Design System - Product Lead to join the Stori Design System team and drive DeLorean’s strategy, leadership, and execution. As a Design System Product Lead, you’ll work directly with a Tech Lead, Product Design lead and a team of iOS, Android, and Full stack engineers, and DS advocates to deliver iterative versions of DeLorean, applying your leadership and communication skills to understand your users and translate their needs into a scalable solution. You’ll relate on a daily-basis with multidisciplinary teams such as brand, tech, PD, CRM, regulatory and more to enhance our product experience through high quality libraries used by more than 150 Storians inside the company.

And more exciting yet, you’ll drive this product delivery in Mexico and Colombia, LATAM impact all the way!

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience (4+ years) in product management, specifically leading the development of a financial product
• Demonstrated success in driving product development from concept to launch, and managing product lifecycles.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills, with a strong customer obsession.
• Data-driven mindset with proficiency in utilizing analytics and user insights to inform product decisions.
• Advance Visual Design as a discipline and a practice
• 5+ years of experience in Visual Design
• 2+ years of experience working, building, and maintaining a design system
• Experienced working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering; and Brand
• Deep expertise in visual, design system, and brand design with a good eye for fantastic design
• Great understanding of visual harmony, information hierarchy, and design patterns
• User-centered design focus
• Experience designing for Android, iOS, and Web with accessibility and usability in mind
• Experience in writing simple and clear design documentation for multiple audiences (designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders)
• Experience in running alignment workshops
• Strong portfolio demonstrating your work (Building a design vision from art direction to establishing a design language)
• Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate ideas and decisions
• Experience implementing and managing a thoughtful governance structure and process.
• Be able to understand the different areas of our product, and where our standards should be applied and to what level.
• Strong persuasion and relationship-building skills to influence and drive decision-making
• A team player and an excellent collaborator
• Excellent self-organization and ability to plan own work in line with the broader team plans
  
  

What’s On Your Plate?

• Own and lead the DS strategy, OKRs, and tactics (collaborating with the Tech Lead and Product Design Lead)
• Frame the vision of the product in collaboration with Brand, Product Design, Product, and Tech
• Ensure releases and product priorities are communicated clearly with the squads, allowing them to properly plan DeLorean implementations
• Define and implement a strong product governance while allowing well-defined pipelines to take place for multiple processes, going from a brand asset request through a whole new component creation
• Translate Brand principles into delightful UI components
• Explain, discuss, and justify design decisions eloquently. Give effective feedback and direction
• Lead the definition and creation of an atomic, coherent, and collaborative design system for our superapp
• Collaborate closely with fellow product designers, product managers and engineers to define, challenge and solve complex problems to enhance interactivity and delight users
• Take charge of the consistency of visual experience across our products, with scalability in mind
• Evolve our design language to match future requirements and add delight by introducing micro-interactions, animations, and transitions
• Coordinate with researchers and developers to ensure the impact and feasibility of proposed designs
• Support developers and QA to ensure high-quality output
• Perform regular design audits and drive visual strategy based on the outcome
• Be updated about the latest design trends and best practices, evaluate what’s applicable to our context, and share insights to the team
• Offer mentorship to junior team members
• Think outside the box to solve complex adoption challenges rapidly
• Negotiate with other Product, Tech, and Brand leaders to successfully adopt DeLorean
• Execute on an agile framework every sprint to prioritize and fulfill the product objectives, addressing the company’s as well
