The Strategy Operations Manager will report to the Mexico Managing Director and will be responsible for ensuring that teams are planning and delivering on the quarterly and annual objectives and hitting their key results. This is a dynamic and multi-offering function; sound decision making, broad understanding of multiple business functions, exceptional communication up, down and sideways and a high level of emotional intelligence are essential capabilities the person that fills this role must possess.
What You’ll do?
- Drive focus and efficiency within Mexico’s cross functional teams to hit our KPIs by building optimal strategic planning and operational rhythms.
- Strengthen the connection between global and market-specific strategies in order to empower team execution and drive impact.
- Ensure a holistic understanding of the Mexican business strategy and operations in order to engage as a thought partner to Mx leadership that provides actionable inputs, recommendations and drives key projects.
- Partner with Mexico’s GM and CLT to drive continuous improvement projects which lead to bottom line savings, top line impact and benefits to the stakeholders or project sponsors.
- Run the country squad through overseeing the team’s operations, managing priorities as well as owning strategic reporting and communications channels.
- Establish and maintain optimal operating rhythms to ensure the organization is running effectively and efficiently on a day to day basis to meet objectives and key results.
- Spearhead strategic analytical projects and provide recommendations to key stakeholders that drive the country’s OKR success.
- Strengthen Mexico’s operations by providing cross functional team leaders actionable insights to improve teamwork across the organizations through promoting clarity in roles / responsibilities, metric ownership and identifying operational gaps.
- Manage Mexico’s team strategic cross-functional ceremonies in partnership with Mexico’s GM to ensure operational status and progress is driving OKRs.
- Own key operational partner relationships and identify improvement opportunities.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience in management consulting or strategic planning.
- 5+ years of project and stakeholder management experience for distributed teams across multiple locations.
- 5+ years experience leveraging software development and team collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, Smart sheet, etc.
- Excellent understanding of digital business operations and procedures.
- Analytical skills to solve key business questions and provide recommendations in ambiguous environments and with multiple cross functional teams.
- Prior experience in working in companies with global business operations.
- Practical experience working at start up pace with heavy virtual communications.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor others in a replicable, scalable way.
- Highly skilled at creating business models, business plans and financial projections.
- Enjoys the benefits and challenges of working at a lean, growing start-up.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor.
- Simple, trustworthy and clear style of communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build trust with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with digital technology and/or Fintech.
- Proven expertise in Agile Scrum & Kanban methodologies, concepts, practices, and standards.
