Ibotta is seeking a Director, Business Development to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to build new publisher partnerships for the Ibotta Performance Network, where Ibotta’s offer content is hosted on partner properties on a white-label basis.

One example of these partnerships can be found here. Areas of focus will include large national retailers, specialty retailers, content publishers (e.g., large recipe sites), financial institutions, and social networks. These partnerships will account for hundreds of millions of dollars in annual gross profit, and represent the future of Ibotta and the Ibotta Performance Network.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Establish net-new relationships with assigned publisher partners. Define the GTM, strategy, and drive the business forward with proactive and thoughtful client engagements

  • Manage a full-funnel of partnerships, inclusive of market research, prospecting, outreach, pitching, negotiating, and integrating into our platform

  • Own the entire business development process, gaining leadership buy-in, selling and negotiating partnerships, launching new pilots, and evolving those partnerships based on data-driven results

  • Build and deliver thoughtful and innovative presentations to prospective partners that showcase the value proposition of working with Ibotta and joining the Ibotta Performance Network

  • Sell in and negotiate a multitude of complex key deal terms, all while balancing the needs of various internal and external stakeholder teams

  • Grow, maintain and leverage your network. Attend conferences, trade shows, and industry events to build relationships, close deals and maintain expertise in our industry

  • Use innovation, creativity, process, and entrepreneurialism in every interaction you have, both externally and internally

  • Ensure that sales tactics align with the values, goals, and resources of the business

  • Travel up to 30%

​​What we are looking for:

  • 6-8 years of national B2B business development experience working with large partners in: grocery, drug, mass, dollar and convenience, or similar relevant field

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Technical Skills: G Suite, Excel, Microsoft Suite

  • Demonstrated track record of new business success, including ability to pivot and problem solve during a complex BD/partnership process

  • Proven ability to sell into high-level leadership (including C-level) and to navigate potential customer organizations to connect with the business owner/decision maker

  • Brilliant communication skills, both written and oral. Great presenter (candidates must do a mock pitch as part of the hiring process)

  • Expert negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close the deal

  • Flexibility, accountability, adaptability, resourcefulness, and ability to work with little direction in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Ability to think and act like an entrepreneur and to use creative thinking to deliver value to your stakeholders

  • Great analytical skills with an innate compulsion to measure the results of your work

Additional Details:

  • This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.

  • Base compensation range: $142,000-$164,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.This range is not all inclusive as total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to the base salary that will increase total earnings.
