Ibotta is looking for a Staff Salesforce Engineer to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. You will be the senior technical leader for our Salesforce platform. Salesforce supports our revenue organization and is a critical part of the Ibotta technical ecosystem, spanning CRM, quote to cash, contract lifecycle, and billing. The role calls for deep Salesforce expertise and equal strength in the systems around it. Our Salesforce platform integrates with a large distributed, event driven architecture, so the engineers who do well here are as comfortable reasoning about services and APIs as they are about Apex and the Salesforce data model. You will set the technical direction and engineering standards for the Salesforce platform, partnering with engineering managers, architects, product, and revenue stakeholders to shape its technical roadmap.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing
Setting the technical direction and architecture for the Salesforce platform
Owning the integration architecture between Salesforce and Ibotta's broader services
Defining the development, deployment, and code review practices the teams work to, and documenting them so they hold up across full time engineers and contractors
Owning the testing, reliability, and performance of the platform
Partnering with product, engineering, architecture, and revenue stakeholders, and translating technical risk and cost into terms they can act on
Simplifying complex inherited systems rather than adding to them
Mentoring Salesforce engineers and raising the technical bar across the group

What we are looking for
8+ years of Salesforce engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership across multiple teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Deep Apex and Lightning Web Components experience, with a solid grasp of Lightning architecture and the Salesforce data model
Hands on experience building applications in at least one backend language outside of Salesforce, such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js
Experience with event driven architecture and integrations over REST and SOAP APIs, including Salesforce Platform Events and Change Data Capture
Experience with Salesforce release and deployment practices and version control based development, using tooling such as Copado, Salesforce DX, and Git
Experience with CPQ
Clear written communication, you document architecture and decisions so others can act on them
Nice to have
A track record of simplifying complex inherited systems rather than adding complexity
Experience integrating Salesforce with systems that hold their own business logic and serve as the source of truth
Experience setting engineering standards across teams that include contractors or staff augmentation
Familiarity with AI assisted development and judgment about where it adds value

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks, and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $164,000 - $190,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
