  • $50.00 per hour

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Overview

Handshake is recruiting Receptionists and Information Clerk Professionals to contribute to an hourly, temporary AI research project—but there’s no AI experience needed. In this program, you’ll leverage your professional experience to evaluate what AI models produce in your field, assess content related to your field of work, and deliver clear, structured feedback that strengthens the model’s understanding of your workplace tasks and language. The Handshake AI opportunity runs year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across different areas of expertise.

Details

  • The position is remote and asynchronous; work independently from wherever you are.

  • The hours are flexible, with no minimum commitment, but most average 5-20 hrs

  • The work includes developing prompts for AI models that reflect your field, and then evaluating responses.

  • You’ll learn new skills and contribute to how AI is used in your field

  • Your placement into a project will be dependent on project availability—if you apply now and can’t work on this project, more will be available soon.

Qualifications

  • You have at least 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following types of work.

  • The examples below reflect the types of real-world responsibilities that you might have had in your role that will give you the context needed to evaluate and train high-quality AI models

    • Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.

    • Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.

    • Receive payment and record receipts for services.

    • Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars.

    • Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.

    • Hear and resolve complaints from customers or the public.

    • File and maintain records.

    • Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.

    • Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents.

    • Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.

    • Perform duties, such as taking care of plants or straightening magazines to maintain lobby or reception area.

    • Analyze data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public.

    • Calculate and quote rates for tours, stocks, insurance policies, or other products or services.

    • Keep a current record of staff members' whereabouts and availability.

    • Schedule space or equipment for special programs and prepare lists of participants.

    • Process and prepare memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, or other documents.

    • Enroll individuals to participate in programs and notify them of their acceptance.

    • Take orders for merchandise or materials and send them to the proper departments to be filled.

    • Enter and update databases of contact information, such as names, addresses, and phone numbers.

  • You’re able to participate in asynchronous work in partnership with leading AI labs.

If your school requires a CPT course, Handshake AI may not meet your school’s requirements. STEM OPT is not supported.
