Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong hands‑on expertise in Node.js and solid front‑end experience in React to join our engineering organization. This is a high‑impact role where you will guide a talented team, influence architectural direction, and help build scalable backend and full-stack solutions that power the Seismic platform.
As a fast-growing SaaS leader, this role offers the opportunity to shape core engineering foundations, strengthen team capability, and drive operational excellence across distributed teams.
Who you are:
- 10+ years of software development experience, with 3–5+ years in leadership or people management.
- Strong hands‑on expertise in:
- Node.js (primary)
- React (front-end)
- Experience designing backend architectures, REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, caching strategies, and integration patterns.
- Practical experience working in Azure, AWS, or GCP with cloud-native and DevOps practices.
- Ability to drive clarity, align stakeholders, and manage distributed teams effectively.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience working in a product-based organization building scalable, high‑quality software.
- Prior experience collaborating with US-based stakeholders in a global product engineering setup.
- Exposure to .NET / .NET Core (secondary, not mandatory).
- Experience integrating LLM/GenAI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into enterprise products.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deployments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead a backend-centric engineering team with strong focus on Node.js services and APIs.
- Guide the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-native services and integrations.
- Support full‑stack delivery by enabling React-based UI development within the team.
- Drive engineering standards in CI/CD, observability, testing strategy, and performance.
- Collaborate with global product managers, designers, and engineering counterparts.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, incident reviews, and roadmap planning.
- Build a team culture that values ownership, growth, and engineering excellence.
- Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow engineering talent.
