Overview

Seismic is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer II – Performance Engineering to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a key member of the Quality Engineering organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our platform by designing, building, and executing robust performance testing frameworks and strategies.

You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, SRE, infrastructure, and delivery teams to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across our cloud‑native systems.

Who you are:

  • 5–8 years of experience in performance testing / performance engineering
  • Strong experience with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Locust, or similar
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and performance bottleneck analysis
  • Experience with API performance testing (REST-based systems)Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Java, or similar)
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and quality engineering principles
  • Good communication and collaboration skills

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and implement end-to-end performance testing strategies (load, stress, endurance, scalability)
  • Build and maintain performance test frameworks and scripts using modern tools
  • Execute performance tests and analyze results to identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and system constraints
  • Work across UI, APIs, backend services, and data stores to validate system performance
  • Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams to tune applications, infrastructure, and services
  • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes
  • Monitor system performance using tools such as Grafana, New Relic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Splunk
  • Troubleshoot issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers
  • Contribute to capacity planning, scalability design, and performance best practices
  • Continuously improve performance engineering practices and tooling
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve analysis, debugging, and test efficiency
