Overview
Seismic is seeking a Software Engineer in Test with strong expertise in Selenium-based automation and solid programming skills to join our dynamic and innovative team.
As part of the Quality Engineering organisation, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by designing and building robust test automation frameworks and scalable test solutions.
You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, SRE, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality software and improve engineering productivity through automation.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 7+ years (or aligned level) in QA automation / SDET roles
- Strong hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver
- Strong programming skills in Java / Python / JavaScript (coding depth is a must)
- Experience building or enhancing automation frameworks from scratch
- Solid understanding of software testing principles and automation best practices
- Experience with TestNG / JUnit / PyTest / Cypress / Playwright (any relevant framework)
- Strong experience in API testing (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Git-based version control systems
- Experience with test case management / defect tracking tools (Jira, etc.)
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development practices
- Good understanding of databases and SQL validation
What you'll be doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Selenium WebDriver
- Build scalable automation solutions for UI, API, and end-to-end workflows
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code for automation scripts (Java/Python/JavaScript)
- Execute automated test suites and analyse results to identify defects, performance issues, and gapsDevelop and maintain page object models (POM) and data-driven or hybrid frameworks
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality gates
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into build and release processesPerform root cause analysis on defects and support defect triage and resolution
- Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring testability and quality are built earlyContinuously improve test coverage, frameworks, and automation practices
